How do I change my payment method?
Guide to updating your payment information
Updating your payment method is quick and easy. You can change your credit card, debit card, or other payment methods at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal.
Step 1: Navigate to Billing Settings
Log in to your Artomate account and click on your profile icon in the top right corner. From the dropdown menu, select "Settings". In the Settings sidebar, click on "Billing".
Step 2: Open the Customer Portal
On the Billing & Payments page, scroll down to the action buttons at the bottom of the Subscription Plan card. Click the "Manage Billing" button. This will open the Stripe Customer Portal in a new browser tab.
Note: The "Manage Billing" button may show "Opening..." briefly while the portal session is being created. The Stripe Customer Portal will open in a new tab automatically.
Step 3: Update Your Payment Method
In the Stripe Customer Portal, you'll see your current payment method and subscription details. Look for the "Update payment method" or "Payment methods" section. Click on it to manage your payment methods.
In the Stripe Portal, you can:
- View your current payment method
- Add a new payment method (credit card, debit card, etc.)
- Set a default payment method
- Remove old or expired payment methods
- Update billing address information
Step 4: Enter New Payment Details
When adding or updating a payment method, you'll be prompted to enter:
- Card Number: Your credit or debit card number
- Expiration Date: Month and year when your card expires
- CVV: The 3-digit security code on the back of your card
- Billing Address: The address associated with your payment method
Step 5: Save and Verify
After entering your payment details, click "Save" or "Update". Stripe will verify your payment method. Once verified, it will be saved securely and set as your default payment method for future charges.
Tip: You can add multiple payment methods and choose which one to use as your default. This is useful if you want a backup payment method or prefer different cards for different purposes.
Security
All payment information is encrypted and securely processed through Stripe, our payment provider. We never store your full card details on our servers - they're handled entirely by Stripe's secure payment processing system, which is PCI DSS compliant.
What Happens After Updating
- Immediate Update: Your new payment method is saved and set as default
- Future Charges: All future subscription payments and usage charges will be billed to your new payment method
- Confirmation: You may receive an email confirmation from Stripe about the payment method update
- No Interruption: Your subscription continues without interruption - only the payment method changes
